Pure language
by Highpriest ini have heard from a reliable source that the witchpower libel and crap society with it's governing body stands unified by a 5 year plan to introduce what they call "pure language".the rank and file have accepted saying there is room for improvement in our language:in the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c".
sertainly obedient servants of god's people will reseive this news with joy.
also the hard "c" will be replaced with "k".

2019 Annual Meeting: more F.O.G.
by neat blue dog inafter the new construction project is announced, anthony morris the turd gives a talk where he arrogantly tells the audience to 'get over it' and get to work.
he says relaxing is fine and 'im not trying to put a guilt trip on you' but you all need to get busy.
no graciousness at all for the endless volunteer labor they demand for whatever new projects they dream up.

Is this "David Sanderson gives an impassioned talk..." David Splane or Mark Sanderson
It's "Mark" Sanderson, although Mark is really his middle name. Just like "Steven" is really Lett's middle name. I just called Sanderson by his legal first name.

He says relaxing is fine and 'im not trying to put a guilt trip on you' but you all need to get busy. No graciousness at all for the endless volunteer labor they demand for whatever new projects they dream up. (His voice is also a little slurred and constant stumbling of his words, which makes me wonder if he takes a sip or two to loosen up before going on stage, like his kindred spirit Rutherford, but that's another story.)
Then, David Sanderson gives an impassioned talk meant to whip up fear and emotion about the JWs in Russia and how the persecution is supposedly coming over here too. Oh, and AM3 also said that the Great Tribulation is 'very close'.
It's funny, in both talks they say specifically that the audience shouldn't feel guilty or afraid, but that's EXACTLY what they're trying to do.

Angel's Advocate
by Under No Illusion insooo.... i've been perusing recent topics for a few minutes and seeing pretty much the standard jw fare these days - scandals, abuse, bad behavior, cover ups, bullying, shunning, family splits, torturous extrications from a cult, mind control etc.. i started to try and think of anything the dubs were doing that was actually beneficial to mankind in any way, and i'm struggling.
without being facetious, wtf do they do to make anybody's life better?
help me out here.. pros.

You forgot, they also boosted Roku sales.
And I have it from a reliable source that their Caleb and Sophia animations were so professional that it impressed a prominent Pixar executive and that can only be done with God's spirit.

This is great, thanks for sharing. JWs DO use this scripture as a common proof text to say that Jesus commonly used the name Jehovah even though there is no record of it.

How did/do you address your fellow believers?
by JayDubyaDotOrg inevening all.. during today's midweek bore-athon my mind was wandering as usual, and i was doing some (oh the horror!
) thinking.. nothing screams 'cult' more to me than dubs calling each other brother.. "that was an excellent talk tonight brother anderson".. "brother jones, we really need to go in service together again soon".. is it just me using people's first name.. "hi john how's it going?
did you watch the match yesterday?

I call EVERYONE by their first names. Once in a big while a very elderly one might prefer the title, and so I call them that out of respect similar to Mr. and Mrs. - But most don't mind and they do the same with each other. It really irks me to see some of the JW Bible dramas where they have people saying "Brother Paul", "Brother Timothy" etc, as if that was a 'thing' back then.

Doctor Sleep
by Simon insaw the movie yesterday and, wow - it was good.. it's a follow-up to the shinning, an iconic movie, and it just has the same feel to it not least because some of it ends up set back at the same hotel and has the same kind of camera angles and scenes plus the haunting soundtrack.
it actually starts with the mom and the kid living after they survived the experience in the original movie.. it wasn't what i was expecting, i thought it was going to just be a cash-in, but it wasn't - not just more of the same, instead it actually built in the original and expanded on what 'the shinning' was.. if you like suspenseful movies but not just a gore-fest, i give it a thumbs up..

It was based on an actual book sequel by King, wasn't it? If so that's probably why it was good. If it was an original Hollywood sequel, it would've been highly derivative, nostalgic, going for the lowest-common-denominator etc.

Governments have no business telling people who they should or should not associate with.
The same is true of judicial committees. Of course individuals can still decide, but religious organizations shouldn't. The sooner governments start taking away financial incentives to "charitable" organizations that engage in this, the better.
